Another busy week!!

I love Summer! It has been another busy week at Calamityville!! I am happy to say that after 3 backbreaking days of moving dirt, picking rocks and running the drag, we finally plant the first section of grass out in the front of our property. Now if it will just grow!

We also got the pool set up, started to fill it and were informed of water restrictions due to a malfunction at the water plant. Well, I have waited 4 years for this pool, and by golly, I was determined to enjoy it! So, I went skinny dipping in the 3 inches of water we managed to get into it. it felt wonderful!! We have been putting water in a little at a time and it is now almost up to my knees, so today after spending 4 hours in the 90 degree sun at an auction, I did it again LOL I have to say, skinny dipping is rather addicting LOL!

We took a lovely drive up in the mountains Thursday. We went to a place called Trapper’s Lake Lodge, had lunch, enjoyed the view and came home. It was beautiful. I will have to make a post of nothing but pics since I am falling behind LOL

School is going really well and right now I am holding an A average. I am very proud of myself so far. :)

The Grands visit got postponed and we will now be going down to get them on the 8th of July. We still get them for 3 weeks, so I am not too upset about it.

I think that brings you all up to date with things here, so I think I will go visit everyone else!!

Blessings~

Holy Wozzer!!!

It has been a busy busy week here in Calamityville!! Everything happened at once as is bound to happen. LOL But it was all fun stuff, so Im not complaining!! First off, Godsband and I went and saw Restless Heart in concert last Sat. OMG! It was really really good! It was in the park so there were no designated seats. We sat on the grass right in front and to the right of the stage and by the time it was over, I was right up next to the stage dancing and screaming LOL I got an autographed CD and some really great pics that I will post soon! The Opening band was Country Contraband and they were awesome as well. The lead singer was H.O.T!!!! His name is Erik Johnson and oh my!! I almost swooned! LOL I got my picture taken with him and another autographed CD. To say that was a good day would be the understatement of the year!!!

The day after that was Father’s day. The youngest came down with his wife and we had a really good time BBQing and talking. Very nice, peaceful day. Monday was reserved for sleeping..well, it was planned that way, but the Godsband and I ended up sleeping until 10 a.m.!!! In 21 years that is an all time first!! LOL We then went to lunch came home and vegged in front of the TV LOL Wed. we headed for the big city and spent 3 days there. Great fun, but so exhausting. LOL We are now home. What fun it all was, but what a wonderful feeling to return home! LOL

My classes also started Wed. But since we were gone, I had to catch up. I took my first class and test last night and scored 100% on the test. I was happy :)

This weekend we want to get our pool up. The grand’s visit has been put off until the 8th of July when we will again travel tot he big city to get them. But we will still have them for 3 weeks. When we take them home it will be family reunion time. I think I need a vacation! LOL

So, its Thursday…

Its been another week on the run here in Calamityville. The weather, having been beautiful and in the 80s took a dive yesterday and gave us snow. Yes, snow. On June 11th. Yippy Skippy. Of course the day before the Godsband and I had finally purchased the swimming pool that has been on the “things to get” list for several years, so of course it snowed. We also got the window and door for the new room. You remember the one that was suppose to be my craft room? Its now going to be my craft room/pantry/cat room/ library. LOL But thats ok. I needed some place to put stuff LOL

The Grandkids will be here the 23rd! I am thrilled to say we get the for 3 weeks this year! WOOT! BeNana is in Heaven, let me tell you! The cats, I am afraid will be less than thrilled, but they will have their own little safe room to hide in! :)

My diet is also going very well. I switched tot eh slim fast Optima plan, and I love it. I eat all damn day! Im 7 weeks in, 11 pounds down and have lost 4 inches and 3 pant sizes :)

As if that wasnt enough good news, Saturday the Godsband and I will be getting up bright and early to head for Craig. The annual chainsaw carving compition will be that day, well, the judging anyway, and they will have food, arts and craft booths, and live music. Who might the live music be, you ask? Well, there are a few local bands, and then, none other than Restless Heart!!! I am going to go totally nutso!! I LOVE Restless Heart! To say I am excited is a slight understatement! LOL

Thats about all thats going on in my little world. I hope you all have a wonderful Weekend!!

Back to School…aka I think I’m insane…

Photobucket

Yep, thats me with that big goofy grin. I am headed back to school. I finally decided what I want to do when I grow up, so I figure since Im almost 40, I better get with it. I am going to be studying computers. Anything and everything. Starting with a course to refresh my knowledge on HTML and just moving up the ladder from there. I think the big goofy grin says it all LOL. However Im not real sure that I know who I am at the moment. I was the kid that hated high school, ditched every chance I got, smoked in the alley with the punks, got into a fight at the prom….Yeah. That was me LOL Never, ever thought I would ever voluntarily go back to any kind of school. Would someone like to tell me when I returned from Never Never Land???

The Good. The Bad, and The Ugly…

I cant believe it has been almost a month since my last post! And what a month it has been, my friends!!! Allow me to try to bring you all up to speed.

First the Godsband and I got something. What it was, we will never know because we were both too sick to seek the help of the Dr. All I know is that it was bad! 2 weeks of not being able to get a breath, then finally getting one only to cough ourselves into exhaustion. Blah.

Shortly after that, the National weather service put our town under flood warning. Thanks to the quick response of the national guard and even quicker actions of our town council members and residents, the flooding was minimal and confined to pasture lands, and 1 road. No homes were damaged and as far as I know, nobody was evacuated. Still, it was very scary for awhile!!

because of the high water, my DSL went out. And stayed out for almost a week. So, the Godsband and I got some stuff done around here, went to town…alot…and did some good bumming LOL Finally my DSL comes up and I eagerly come to my blog to let you all know we are safe and sound, only to find that a fire at the place that hosts my site has knocked my site out of the cyberplains. That also lasted almost a week. So, what did we do then?

We went to the mud bogs, of course!!!! It was a BLAST!! This is the best picture I got, but THESE

were the absolute coolest! Earthquake and The Black Pearl. I was drooling!! The Pearl was the first to make it all the way through and I screamed myself horse!!!
We also went to the Grand old west days in Craig, where I made a new friend at the petting zoo…..

Trust me. I would have come home with it, but the Godsband wasnt cooperating.
My hair is now also black. LOL I know, I know. But I think it will stay this way. Picture to come.
So, thats been my month! I am so glad to be back!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

EDIT: ok, so maybe Im not back. when I went to post this, my site was down yet again!
some one go blow Mercury up for me so it will stop going in retrograde! ‘K?!

Here I go again

This morning I turned in my paperwork to once again run for Town Council. Some of you may know that I was appointed to the council a few years ago and lost my bid for election in the last election 2 years ago. I lost by 5, yes, count them, 5 votes. I loved being on the council and have missed it so much. So since 2 seats are open for this year’s election, I decided to try again. I am very excited! The primary is in Aug. If I win that I go on to the general election. I will keep you posted!!

Spring has finally sprung….

Yes, Spring has finally arrived here in Calamityville, and with it, above normal temps. Yesterday it was in the mid 80s. It is suppose to be this way until sometime Wed. . This, of course means that we are now under a flood watch. Now, Calamityville is located at almost the highest point in town, so we are in no danger. But if things go bad, the town could be. The Godsband and I have already decided if it comes to it, we will gladly open our property for people to “camp” we dont have room in the house for more than maybe 3 people, but we will do all we can. I worry. People live right next to the river down there. We are talking within feet of the water when its at normal. Those people will almost surely be dealing with flooding to some degree. I just hope it isnt bad. For those of you who do, please, say a quick prayer that it doesnt get bad….

New Browser

I am trying out the browser called Flock. Since upgrading to Vista, I have had a lot of problems with IE. So when I was told about this one, I just had to give it a try. So far I like it. I love being able to post to my blog without actually coming to my blog, and I can write my posts online or off. It is also very good for uploading photos. I will let you know how it goes ;)
In other news, my piercing is healing nicely. It is still a little swollen, and eating takes some time, but its doing good ;)
Today was weigh in day. I am not eating more than a baby, but I didnt lose anything this week. I didnt gain either tho, and I lost inches, so I am happy. A little perplexed, but happy LOL

Im sorry I am so behind on replying to comments. I am having issues with that. I may end up having to change my theme because of it, but I sure hope not!!

Its Spring time…sort of!

Spring time is trying really hard to poke through all the crappy weather here in CalamityVille. We are once again fighting snow. But this time it is at least mixed with rain. That helps. Tho not much. Its really confusing the birds, as you can see from my Oreol Tree in the front yard

I feel very bad for these poor babies. But not as bad as I feel for the itty bitty little hummers that are so tiny it would be very easy for them to freeze. This little gal is sitting in her favorite spot. ON my back deck rail right under the feeder.

I make sure both the hummers and the oreols get lots of yummy sugar water to help keep them warm and strong :)

Other than this lousy weather we are having Mother’s Day here at CalamityVille was a very nice day. I got lots of loves from all of the furkids and pretty much did what I pleased.

Those of you who know me know that I do something a little nuts for every big moment in my life. Usually in the form of a piercing or a tattoo. It being just over a year since we lost the baby ( we were turned down for adoption. But if you have ever experienced that kick in the gut you will understand why I phrase it the way I do) and I survived the year and am actually thriving and wasnt dreading Mother’s Day, I wanted to do something to celebrate. So, what did I do?

Yes, dear readers, I got my tongue pierced. LOL I am happy to say it has not hurt one bit. The biggest problem to date has been swelling, and today it started itching. But no pain LOL. I wanted to get my tat. I have it all designed.

I need to save a little more money for that tho :)

Thats what has been happening here at CalamityVille. I hope you all had a very wonderful weekend!
